Beth N. Nesis is licensed to practice law in Colorado. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Associations and Boulder Bar Association and is a member of the Employment Law Sections of the American Bar Association, Colorado Bar Association and Boulder Bar Association.
THE FORMATIVE YEARS
After graduating from Beverly Hills High School, Ms. Nesis moved to Boulder, Colorado to begin her undergraduate studies. She attended the University of Colorado from 1979 until 1983 and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing.
THE SKI BUSINESS
After spending a couple of months living in Vail, Colorado, Ms. Nesis secured a highly sought after position, the Assistant Marketing Director for Colorado Ski Country USA, the trade association for the Colorado ski industry. She quickly moved up the ranks and was promoted to the Director of Sales for CSCUSA. As the Sales Director, Ms. Nesis traveled extensively throughout the United States and to Japan and Australia. Despite this wonderful position with CSCUSA, Ms. Nesis was drawn to the challenge of the legal profession and, as a result, Ms. Nesis returned to school at night in 1989. She obtained her Juris Doctorate Degree in 1992 from the University of Denver, College of Law.
THE PRACTICE OF LAW
During her early legal career, first with Canges, Iwashko, & Bethke, P.C. then with the Honorable Judge Babcock, and, most recently, with Holland & Hart LLP, Ms. Nesis gained extensive experience in both federal and state litigation. While at Canges, Iwashko & Bethke, she assisted in the preparation and litigation of numerous trials in the areas of criminal law, family law, torts, probate, corporations and securities. From there, Ms. Nesis had the privilege of clerking for Judge Babcock in the United States District Court. As Judge Babcock's clerk, Ms. Nesis drafted numerous memoranda opinions and orders for a variety of federal litigation matters - civil and criminal.
After completing her clerkship, Ms. Nesis joined Holland & Hart LLP where she worked on cases ranging from complex antitrust to employment law to ski defense. Additionally, at the end of 1996, Ms. Nesis spent two months working in the City Attorney's office in Denver, Colorado. As an assistant City Attorney, Ms. Nesis had several jury trials and disposed of numerous other disputed matters.
THE PRESENT AND FUTURE
While these were all invaluable experiences, Ms. Nesis found the need to press forward and expand the scope of her commitment and relationships with clients. Additionally, the opportunity to practice law with her father, who has more than 40 years of experience, was too tempting to pass up. Because of their backgrounds and outlooks on life and the legal profession, Nesis & Nesis L.L.P. serves individuals and businesses by offering a personalized approach to legal counseling, litigation representation and practical solutions to legal problems and issues.
Additionally, as a result of her love for the outdoors and ski industry in particular, Ms. Nesis continues to be an integral part of the ski and tourism industry. She is currently on the advisory committee for Colorado Ski Country USA's Associate Members and she recently completed a private consulting agreement (primarily in the area of sales/marketing) for InterZine Productions, an online service provider for skiers, snowboarders, mountain bikers and golfers.
