ATTORNEY AT LAW

JOSEPH J. NESIS is licensed to practice law in Colorado, California and New York. His principal office is in Beverly Hills, California, but he also assists clients in Colorado and New York as needed. Mr. Nesis is a member of the California, New York and Colorado Bar Associations and is a member of the Estate Planning, Trust and Probate sections of the Bar of California and New York.

EARLY YEARS

Upon graduation from High School, Mr. Nesis volunteered and was a scout in an Infantry Company in Germany during the Second World War. He attended the University of Colorado from 1947 to 1948, and later graduated from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania. While attending Wharton, Mr. Nesis was the chairman of Students for Clark and Dillworth and covered the river wards in a Philadelphia municipal election. Later, Mr Clark became Senator and Mr. Dillworth became Governor of the State of Pennsylvania.

NEW YORK YEARS

Mr. Nesis practiced public accounting for five years which included auditing all types of businesses. For several tax seasons, Mr. Nesis was involved in preparing intricate tax returns for a large accounting firm. He became a Certified Public Accountant and also secured licenses as a Real Estate Broker and Insurance Broker. In 1956, after graduating from New York University Law School, Mr. Nesis became licensed as an attorney and immediately opened his own office. For the next fifteen years, Mr. Nesis' legal practice included: (a) Wills, probate and probate litigation; (b) Estate planning and tax audits; (c) Real estate transactions; (d) Securities registrations and litigation, and the general practice of law.

CALIFORNIA YEARS

Initially, Mr. Nesis was employed as chief financial officer and counsel to three Public Reporting Companies. Then, for about three years, he was President for one of them, an aerospace company engaged in the defense industry with about 150 employees.

For the following ten years, Mr. Nesis was involved in the entertainment industry. He was employed as counsel to a Mexican Government subsidiary that distributed the bulk of Spanish Language films being shown on screens throughout the United States. He was engaged as counsel to film financing companies for about 20 feature length films produced in Canada. This work required extensive travel to the France and other locations abroad as part of his negotiations with film producers in foreign countries.

Mr. Nesis became licensed as an attorney in California in 1972. Presently, he is also Certified as a Legal Specialist in Taxation Law by the Bar of California, he is a member of State Bar of California and its Planning, Trust and Probate Law Section, and member of Beverly Hills Bar Association and its Probate, Trust and Estate Planning Section. Presently, Mr. Nesis' practice emphasizes: (a) Probate and probate litigation; (b) Trusts and Estate Planning;(c) Estate Tax Audits, and (d) Estate planning for high profile marital and other clients.

COLORADO - THE NEW YEARS

Prompted in a large measure by his daughter, Mr. Nesis was recently admitted to practice law in Colorado. His practice continues to emphasize Estate Planning. His 40 years of legal experience has taught him that each person has his or her own needs and desires which must be reflected in the estate plan. Estate documents should be written in plain, easy to understand terms which clearly reflect the client's wishes and the advantages available from various tax planning procedures.
